POLICE FORCE.

INCREASING ENLISTMENTS. WELLINGTON, January 11. As a result of increasing enlistments in the police force it is understood that tho police depot in Wellington, which lias been closed during the period of the war, will be reopened at tho end of the month, under tho control of Senior Sergeant APNamara. It is dopartmentally stated that the increased rates of pay have, attracted a fine stamn of recruit, and the class will be for the "benefit of these men. . Men of the ages of 20 and 21 are enlisting freely, and the majority intend to make police work their profession.
