IMMIGRANTS.
STRANDED IN SYDNEY. AUCKLAND, December 30. With reference to the plight of New Zea-land-bound immigrants stranded in Sydney, Mr Massey said it was unfortunate that, through some mistake by the shipping people jn London, a small number of immigrants had booked their passages by a steamer the destination of which was Australia, and as a result of the shipping trouble were held up there. ‘Of course, wo cannot a-Row them to be stranded there,” he said. “A mistake lias been mode. Tt was unintentional so far as they are concerned, and the Governmnt thinks it ought to see them through. We have been doing this up to the present.”
