Mr L. E. B. Edwards, who has officiated as stationmaster at Omafcau for over four years, and who has been transferred to Ranfurly, was met by a few personal friends and presented with a smoker's outfit, as an expression of his value to the district, and an appreciation of the many little considerations received at his hands. He wa s also tha recipient of a purse of sovereigns. His place at Omakau will be taken by Mr Sexton. „ j Mrs M'Clintock. of the Bcndigo Hotel, Alexandra, was the -recipient of several tokens of esteem and good wishes prior to; her departure (writes our correspondent). . A deputation of gentlemen, representative of various sections of the community, waited on Mrs M'CHnto'Ck, and in making a pre- ' ser.tation the Mayor (Mr W. Black) spoke of the regret of the citizens at losing Mra M'Clintock. She had tak'en an interest in the affairs of the community, helping where she could. As hostess of the Bendigo Hotel x she had conducted the business strictly to th© letter of the law, which brought credit to herself and the house. They desired that she should know that her action in/ this direction was taken notioe of and appreciated. Tho staff also presented Mra M'Cliiitcck with a departing gift in recognition of the pleasant relations which had existed. • i
