LAWN TENNIS PLAYERS ENTERTAINED,' LONDON, July 7. Leading lawn tennis players, Including Tilden (the American who won the championship at the Wimbledon tournament), Mile. Lenglen (France), (Australian), and Shimidzu (Japan) were
entertained at luncheon in the House of Commons to meet Mr Balfour. TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS. LONDON, July 9. The Duke of York and 'Wing-commander Greig won the Doubles Air Force Tennis Championships at Queen's Club. The Duke (Prince Albert, younger brother of the Prince of Wales) reached "the semi-final in the Singles. DAVIS CUP. LONDON, July 8. Rain stopped Davis Cup play at Eastbourne during the Singles between W. M. Johnston (America) and Gobert (France). Johnston was leading. July 10. In the Davis Cup contests Tilden and Johnston beat Gobert and Laurentz, 6—2, 6—3, 6—2.
