FIRE.
AUCKLAND, April 5, Fire, for the second time within thjre* weeks, broke out in Mennie'? biscuit ana confectionery factory in Albert street at 6.50 a.m. to-day. The building: was in process of renovation. No one had been on the premises since Thursday. The origin. of the outbreak is a mystery. The fire began on the top floor, which was gutted. A large amount of raw material was destroyed. The damage is estimated to bo well ' orer £IOOO. The insurances total £6OOO, in the .New Zealand, Standard, and. National offices.
