HAWKE'S BAY -MEETING. NAPIER, April 5. The Easter prize meeting of the Hawke's Bay Rifle Association opened at Roy's Hill on Friday in perfect weather conditions. Owing to the large number of competitors (220) the executive decided to strike out the Napier match (1000yds), and apportion the money equally between the Wellington (800yds) and Horonui (900yds) matches. On Saturday the weather was glorious, the conditions ideal, and the shooting brilliant. The Hastings match was N won by Sergeant L. Loveday (King's prize winner), who putOn the possible. POST AND TELEGRAPH COMPETITION. WELLINGTON, April 6. The result of the Western Electno Shield competition for teams of five men from the Post and Telegraph engineers or cadets for the military year 1919-20 is announced. The winning team was No. 3 Company (Nelson), with a score of 401 points, for four practices—application, snap, and rapid fire at 200yds, and application at 500yds. No. 7 Company (Wellington A team) was second with 383 points; and .No. 1 Company (Auckland A team) was third with 348 points. Nine teams competed. The winning team's scores were:—Lieutenant Baggs 93 (top for dominion), Corporal Jennens 88, Sergeant Kemp 79, Sapper Peters 78, Sapper Smith 63. Last year the shield went to No. 9 Company (Auckland P. and T. cadets), with a score of 421 points. MINIATURE ASSOCIATION'S MEETING. Otago Miniature Rifle Association held a very successful meeting at the Normanby Range on Monday. There was a good muster of competitors from the various local and Peninsula clubs. The sport proved very interesting right through the day, the weather being good, although the wind was very tricky at times.
