"FOR FREEDOM AND HONOUR."
(From Oob Own Coeuesfondent.) LONDON, December 18. The Secretary of the War Office states, regarding the- issue, of a memorial plaque; and scroll to the next-of-kin of those who lost their lives through the war, that a special factory has been set up for -their manufacture, and is now fully equipped. The plaque, designed by Mr E. Cartel Preston, of Liverpool, is m classical style in low relief upon a copper diso approxi: mately sin in diameter. It represent, Britannia, helmeted and with trident, holding ->ut a wreath above a raised panel, in which is placed the name of _ the peraon commemorated. By her side in the foreground is a Hon, also of classical type, Striding forward in a menacing attitude. In the field are two dolphins (as on the well-* known classical coins of Syracuse) emblematic of Britain's sea power. Around the inscription "Ho died for freedom and honour" and a sprig of oak. In the exergue a group in, smaller Is-ale, a Hon who haa overthrown an eagle. The plaques andj j (scrolls are being distributed as they become ready. i
