GREYMOUTH DISTURBANCES.
OFFENDERS BEFORE THE COURT. GREYMOUTH, December 2. Eleven cases, arising out of a disturbance at Wesley Hall on the occasion of'the visit of the Rev. Howard Elliott on October 20, engaged the attention of the magistrate (Mr Levvey) to-day. Great interest was taken in the cases, and the court was thronged. In one cai=fe a conviction was entered on a charge of assault, hut the penalty has not yet been fixed. Four cases of threatening behaviour were dismissed. December 3. Tile hearing of the charges against the alleged participants in the disturbances in Wesley Hall, on October 20, on the occasion of the visit of the Rev. Howard Elliott, were concluded to-day. Tliree of thecharges were dismissed. Two of the defendants were fined £2, and costs, and one £6. Two were committed for trial on a . charge of damage to the hall.
