ARBITRATION COURT'S PRONOUNCEMENT. AN ADDITIONAL BONUS. WELLINGTON, December 1. In the Arbitration Court to-day Mr Justice Stringer made a pronouncement in respect to an additional bonus to be granted on the report of the Government Statistician in regard to the Cosi, of Living and the increase in prices. He stater] that the bonus had been estimated at Id per hour in addition to 2£d per hour already granted, making 3£d per hour in all for workers nnid by the hour. For workers paid by the week the additional bonus would amount to 4s per week extra. The bonus would be made duo from the Ist January next, and as there was no machinery to make the awarding of it automatic, and as it_ would take some time to hear all applications, the award would be made retrospective to January 1, 1920. in each case. As it will be necessary to take each case on its formal application must be filed by all unions wishing to take advantage of the provision.
