Under the auspices of the Presbyterian Women's Guild a work sale was held in the Public Hall, Waikonaiti, on Wednesday afternoon and evening. The weather proved favourable, and there was a good attendance. The stalls were prettily decorated and were well laden with useful articles. The proximity of the Christmas season gave a distinct character to the children's stall. In the evening a number of competitions were arranged, such as naildriving, wood sawing, shooting, hat # trimming, etc. Musical items were contributed by Misses Dempster. Valentine, Shand, Carson, Maxwell, and Mr Sawers. Mrs G. M'Leod kindly acted as accompanist. The proceeds amounted to upwards of £3O.
