THE RESTIVE WAZIRIS.
(By Cable.)
ALLAHABAD, October 29
Three British aeroplanes raided Wana', in Waziristan, yesterday. The machines started in the dark by the aid of flares, reaching Wana in the early dawn. A large number of explosives and incendiary bombs were dropped. All the airmen returned safely. Parties of Mulisuds and Waziris were discerned, rather probably with the intention of raiding. November 2.
The Afghans are spreading reports among the Waziris that "the armistice exists only between the Afghans and the British, and the early resumption of a general frontier war may be expected. On the strength of these stories the tribesmen are gathering for raiding purposes, and attacks on convoys have been ordered by a former Afghan commander, who is now helping the Waziris.
A British advance in Waziristan is expected to begin in a few days.
