REPATRIATION BOARD
The following applications for assistance were dealt with, at Thursday's meeting of the Otago District Repatriation Board: Business Loans. —Ten applications were received, amounting to £1620. Five, representing £520, were approved; two, totalling £6OO, were hald overj one for £2O was withdrawn; and two, amounting to £4BO. were declined. . Furniture Loans. —Seventeen applications were received, amounting to ££so. Fourteen, representing £7OO, were approved; and three, totalling £l5O, were held over. Vocational Loans. —Three- applications from apprentices to have their wages made up to £3 were received and approved. One soldier, who was unable to follow his prewar occupation, was placed in a new trade, and his wages subsidised. Another was granted assistance . to purchasa tools oi trade. Six applications in connection ..with educational assistance wero received. Five were. approved, and one was declined. Two transportation applications were received and approved.
