There was on -view in the Timaru Sports Depot recently a black shag, which, was shot by Mr Wilfred Howell in the Pareora Gorge, and taken to town as undeniable prooi of the havoc which these birds work among trout The shag was "fishing" when Mr Howell shot it, and was found to contain three strong and well-conditioned trout, one lOin, one llin, and the other 12in long.
