Answer: The stamp duty on the original lease is 6s. If you desire to have a counterpart lease the stamp duty on the counterpart is Bs. Delco asks:—"(l) I am working for a farmer, and a contract of service has been drawn up. Who should hold the original agreement? (2) Is there any stamp duty payable on the agreement for service and counterpart? (3) The farm is held by A and B Should both sign the agreement?"—~ Answers: (1) You should hold the original agreement for service. (2) No. (3) Yes. A. B. C. asks:—"ls a tenant paying £lO a year rent and resident in the district for at least three months qualified to be elected as a member of a borough council or town .board?" Answer: Yes. Anxious asks: —"(1) A document is sent out from England for execution. Is it necessary for the signature of the parties to be .witnessed by a notary public? (2) "What is the approximate fee for each execution?" Answers: (1) Yes. (2) About one guinea. Perplexed.—(l) If the property in question belongs to the husband, he may sue for its recovery or for the value of it. (2) This is not a legal ground for separation. (3) The wife can claim, for a separation order and maintenance. Subscriber. —(1) The,committee should conform to the wishes of the subscribers on the matter. (2) It is usual to give the ranks and military distinctions. (3) The school committee cannot be" superseded in the matter.
