The Express's naval correspondent states that negotiations are in progress between . the Admiralty and the New Zealand Gov- ~ eminent for the formation of a squadron on the New Zealand station. The Avriter understands that New Zealand is willing to make a fixed annual payment for up-to-date vessels. the larger issues of New Zealand a naval policy must await the receipt of Viscount, Jellicoe's report. WELLINGTON, August 11. . Sir James Allen said he had no knowledge of the subject matter of the above" cable. Nothing'had been done in New r Zealand about it, and nothing would' be done until Lord Jellicoe had reported. ■
