FARMERS' UNION INSURANCE COMPANY.
ANNUAL MEETING. The fourteenth annual meeting' of the Otpgj Farmers' Union Mutual Fire Insurance Association was held yesterday afterajice Association was hold on Thursday afterthere was about 20 people present. The Chairman moved the adoption of tho report, and thanked those farmers who had supported the association since its inception, and thus made possible the st'ror.g association which now existed. They would see that accident insurance had been added to fire insurance. The accident insurancehad started in April last, and the secretary reported that a largo number of proposals nad already been received, and they were looking forward to as gratifying a result from this branch as from the fire branch. There nad been a very large increase in
fire business during the year. Farmers were now beginning to realise the value of the association.
Air H. E. Steel seconded the motion, stating that the position was very satisfactory, and that they had no losses during the year. The motion was carried.
The following were elected directors: — Messrs William Grey, A. S. Orbell, J. Clarko, J. Christie, and O. J. Inder. Mr T. H. Thompson was re-elected auditor. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to the directors, secretary (Mr H. Mitchell), and the staff.
