LIEUTENANT-COLONEL HOPE'S CHILDREN.

GUARDIANSHIP SETTLED. LONDON, May 21 (delayed). The Hope case has been settled, Mrs Hope agreeing to surrender her guardianship.—A. and N.Z. Cable. A previous cable message reported that the trustees of the late Lieutenant-colonel Hope, who is' believed to have been killed in October, 1917, petitioned the Edinburgh Court of Session VO remove the widow from the guardianship of her two children. The petition alleged drunkenness and immoral conduct, and asserted that Mrs Hope was under tha influence of drink during the eleotion campaign in East Fife, when she was opposing Mr Asquith.
