DAMAGE ON HAAPAI ISLAND. AUCKLAND, June 2. An earthquake, which occurred at the .Friendly Islands on April 30, was followed 1 by a tidal wave, estimated to be Bft high, which did considerable damage on Haapai, ,Vavau and Nukualofa escaped damage, The extent of the damage on Haapai is not known, the information having been received by ihe natives in other groups. It is understood that no lives were lost.
