THE DEFAULTERS' LIST.
NAMES WRONGLY INCLUDED. AN UNFORTUNATE MISTAKE. WAIROA (H. 8.), May 31. Harry Rosa, whose name appears in the military defaulters' list, was killed inaction last July. He was formerly employed ap Marumaru, and left with the Thirty-first Reinforcements. The Christchurch Press states that Private Thomas Bently Brown, whose nam© appeared in the defaulters' list, has been, on active service for some years. Private Brown, who is a son of Mr T. Brown, lata of Ranfurly street, Hornby, enlisted when about 17 years of age. Although not actually preventing their gon from going to the front, his parents iiGtrfiod the authorities of his age, hut he was allowed to leave with his reinforcement. Owing to his youth ho was kept in England until he became 20 years of ago and was then sent over to France, where he remained until th© close of the war. It is probably owing to enlisting at such a youthful age, and being absent from New Zealand when called up, thai his name has appeared in the list. _ Private Brown's eldest brother was killed in action last October, and his mother died about 18 months ago.
