FARMERS' FERTILISER COMPANY.

ANNUAL MEETING. AUCKLAND, May 29. At the annual meeting of the New Zealand Farmers' Fertiliser Company the report stated that the cost of the works was estimated at £318,000. This was accounted for by the decreased purchasing power of the sovereign and the increased cost of materials. The balance sheet to March 31 showed £17,544 for which there was no visible asset. This expenditure covered three years and a-half, and was generally accounted for by preliminary expense and brokerage. Generally, speaking, affairs were more satisfactory than was anticipated by some shareholders Dissatisfaction was expressed by the southern delegates that the southern districts were not represented on the directorate. Th© explanation given was that this would mean an alteration in the articles of association. The directors were quite willing to make such provision as soon as possible. The report and balance sheet were adopted, and a cordial vote of thanks to the directors for the manner in which they

had conducted the business of the company was passed. The retiring directors (Messrs G. T. Bayly, H. R. M'Kenzie, and Someryille) were re-elected, and the retiring auditors also re-elected.
