THE FREEZING WORKS.

A return prepared by the Department of Agriculture shows that there are 44 meat freezing works in New Zealand. The killing capacity of these works is 3860 cattle and 129,150 sheep per day. The aggregate storage capacity of the works is 7,385,272 freight carcases of mutton- A freight oarcase is 601 b. The actual capacity of the works is increased by the practico of telescoping the carcases for economy of space.
