DISCUSSION BY FARMERS. AUCKLAND, May 29. The question of providing a better loading system in the dominion was discussed at the Farmers' Union Conference to-day, when tho following remits were carried: " (1) That the union, in conjunction with the Good Roads Association, should take immediate steps to urge upon the Government the necessity for taking: control of the arterial roads and thoroughly to investigate the Victorian system of road management with a view to securing a better administration of publio money than in the past; (2) that the Government be asked liberally to subsidise all the main roads pending an investigation of the Victorian system."
