INVENTIONS AND APPLIANCES OF INTEREST TO AGRICULTURE.

C. J. Lynde, Macdonald College, Quebec, Canada. TRAILER. This invention provides a trailer connection'which keeps the floor of the trailer horizontal no matter how high or low the connecting device on the puller may be.

This is done by making the trailer tongue in two parts which may be bolted together at any angle vertically.—Warner Mfg. Co., South Beloit, 111. (U.S. Patent 1,285,929). PLOUGH CONNECTION. It is claimed that this connection permits gang ploughs to turn without, removal from the ground and without undue strain. The connection, forward of the axle of the

tractor, permits the ploughs to move vertically; and tRe turntable, under rear axle, permits them to move laterally. — Oliver Chilled Plough Works, South-Bend., Ind. (U.S. Patent 1,285,171). FARM GATE. This gate can be secured in an elevated position, on its hinges, to swing clear oi the snow or to allow email animals to

pass. ' It can also be raised as shown in the dotted lines for the same purposes.— Wm. M'Gee, Apple River, 111. (U.S. Patent 1,285,756). WIRE STRETCHER. The simple stretcher shown here is used to tighten wires which have become slack. The side hooks are caught in the _ wire on either side of the post, the handle is moved

down and locked, and the wire is fastened by a short wire or by staples.—B. G. Moseley, Graham, Texas (U.S. Patent 1,285,316). HAME FASTENER. The advantages claimed for this fastener* are—that it can be readily adjusted vertically, that it fits collars of any size, and

that it is very durable, since it is made of metal.—V. W. Wilson, Brooklet, Georgie (U.S. Patent 1,285,530). FARM HOUSE. The construction of this farm house, and

others, is described in a bulletin on "Farm

Houses" issued by the National Lumber Manufacturers' Association, Chicago, 111. Write for it if you are interested.
