Colonel H. Stewart, D. 5.0., Canterbury Regiment, who before the war was professor of classics at Canterbury University College, relinquished on March 1 the post of Director of Education to the N.Z.E.F. in order to enter upon his new task of writing the official history of the New Zealand Division in France. The vacancy has been filled by the promotion of Major E. H. Northcroft, N.Z. Field Artillery, who hitherto has been Assistant Director. Major Northcroft is a member of the Waikato firm of barristers and solicitors, Northcroft and Bell.
