NEW PAY AND CONDITIONS. ATTITUDE OF AMALGAMATED SOCIETY. WELLINGTON, May 8. A conference of delegates from branches of the A.S.R.S . which has been considering the new terms of pay and conditions offered by the department, concluded to-day. It was reported that the following motion had been carried by- 38 votes to 8 : —" That thi3 conference recommends the Executive Council to accept the proposals offered by the department as an instalment, and that the executive press for the remainder of the programme as opportunity offers."
