- OVERSEA VESSELS. The Union Company advises that its now standardised -steamer Waitemata is expected to leave England for Calcutta early in July en route to the New Zealand main ports, via Singapore and Samanang. The new steamer is a shelter-deck vessel of 9000 tons deadweight and has a eea-going speed of about 12 knots. She was built by the NortCumberland Shipbuilding Company, and while On the stocks was taken over by the Union Company. The dimensions of the vessel are:—Length 400 ft, breadth 53ft, depth 26ft llin. The head office of the Union Company has received advice that the Moana left San Francisco at 4 p.m. on the Brd for Wellington, via Papeete and Rarotonga. She is due to roach Wellingtoi about the 27th inst. The Westmoreland, from Adelaide, reached Bluff at 9 o'clock on Thursday morning. Tho vessel will commence loading a large cargo for Liverpool. She will then proceed to Wellington to complete loading, and will leave New Zealand about May 24. The Patrick-Henderson steamer Bhamo, from Glasgow, via Wellington, was berthed at the Victoria wharf, Dunedin, on tho eth inst. The vessel has about 500 tons of cargo for discharge here, and when this is. completed she will leave on Tuesday or Wednesday for Oamaru, where she will load wool and tallow. She will then sail for Wellington, from which port she will finally leave for London, via Suez, Colombo, and Port Said about May 27. The vessel will take passengers for London. The Port Pirie sailed from London on April 18 for Auckland, Napier, and Wellington, via Australia. Due New Zealand about June 18. The Port Chalmers is loading in New York for Auckland, Wellington, and Australian ports. The War Pilot is loading in New York for Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Melbourne. This steamer was to have sailed in March, but she was temporarily withdrawn by the Ministry of Shipping owing to having met with an accident involving her being dry docked at Barry. . Tho Orator arrived at London on March 14 from New Zealand. The Verdun arrived at Hull on April 24 from New Zealand. The Port Lyttelton arrived at. London on April 28 from New Zealand, via Australia and Bombay. The troopship Willochra, which for soma time past has been refitting at Port Chalmers, sailed on Saturday afternoon for Wellington, where she will load for London. She is timed to leave Wellington about May 17 for the United Kingdom, via Australia and Capetown. The local office of the New Zealand Shipping Company has received advice that the company's liner Ruapehu arrived at Plymouth from Wellington, via Panama, on May 5. She will leave London about the ©ndl of the month for New Zealand. The Remnxena, from London, via northern New Zealand ports, is due at Port Chalmers early next week. After discharging the balance of her cargo, she will load at Port Chalmers, Tiniaru, and Wellington for Lon don. In addition to the Port Chalmers, for Auckland, Wellington, Melbourne, and Sydney, and the War Pilot, for Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Melbourne, the C. anid D. line is loading the Port Albany for Premantle, Adelaide, Sydney, and Brisbane; the new Port Nicholson for Auckland, Wellington, Melbourne, and Sydney; and the Port Victor for New Zealand and Australian ports not yet named. NEW CARGO STEAMER. TO RUN IN THE INTERCOLONIAL TRADE. The head office of the Union Steam Ship Company advises that a new cargo steamer, of 5050 tons deadweight, has been purchased in Englvand for the company. The advice does not give the name cf the new vessel nor where she was built, but it is stated, however, that she- belongs to the standard build of steamers. The vessel will leave England this month, but her first port of call in the dominion has not been fixed. The new cargo boat will be engaged in the intercolonial trade.
