SMUGGLED CHINESE. AUCKLAND, May 8. The case against a local Chinese merchant named Sai Laurie, on a charge of having aided and abetted the smuggling into New Zealand of two prohibited phinamen vae conoluded to-day. A conviction was entered, and a &ne of ;£2O on each of the two charges was imposed, with £8 12s coat*. Security -for appeal was fixed at 15 .guinea*
