SHIPPING NEWS.

OVERSEA VESSELS. The Now Zealand Shipping Company's liner Ruapehu, en route from Wellington to London, left Viewport News on April 22. The New Zealand Shipping Company's Whakatano arrived at Auckland on Tuesday, 29th ult., from New York, via Panama, and was berthed at 9 a.m. yesterday. The vessel is expected to leave for Wellington on Saturday, and will then come south to Lyttelton and Dunedin. She has on board 1684 tons of general cargo for this port, where she is expected! to arrive about May 15. According to cable advice the Iron and Steel Company's barque Antiope left San Francisco for Auckland on April 28 with a large cargo of oaso oil. The vessel will pro--bably reach Auckland about the end of June. The Terpsichore, for which the New Zealand Shipping Company is the agent, reached Wellington early on the 30th ult., after a trip of 149 days from St. John (Canada). The vessel has a full general cargo for New Zealand.

The steamer Devon is due at "Wellington about May 15 from Port Said. The Devon will load at Lyttelton and "Wellington {or Liverpool, sailing' via oranama. The Anawa is due to reach Lyttelton about May 12 with troops. The vessel will, after the disembarkation of her troops, proceed to Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Port Chalmers, where she is due about the end of this month. She will leave on June 5 for Lyttelton and Wellington, which port she will leave on May 16 for London, via Panama.

1 The P. and S. steamer Westmoreland ia due to reach Bluff about the middle of May from Australia- She will lead at Bluff ana Wellington for Liverpool, sailing about the end of May. The Luckenbach steamer Western Comet sailed from New York on April 22 with cargo for discharge at Auckland, Lyttelton, Dunedin, Melbourne, and Sydney. The Union Company has received advice that the R.M.S. Niagara arrived at Honolulu on Wednesday, and sailed that evening for Vancouver, where she is due on May 6.

The New Zealand Shipping Company has received cabled advice that the Paparoa, which is en route from London to Wellington with passengers and troops, left Colon on April 27. The vessel should arrive at Wellington about May 20. The Shaw, Savill, and Albion liner lonio is due at Port Chalmers about the end of this week. The vessel has 1200 tons of general cargo for discharge at Port, and when this has been landed she will sail for Lyttelton and Wellington to load for the United Kingdom. The New Zealand Company's liner Remuefa, from Plymouth, via Panama, reached Auckland) at 6.30 a.m. on the sth. After the disembarkation of her troops she will conn menoe the discharge of her cargo. The vessel will then proceed to Wellington, Lyttelton, and Port Chalmers for the completion of discharge, and i 3 due to reach this port about May 22. The New Zealand Shipping Company advises that the liner Ruahine, from New Zealand, arrived at Plymouth on April 23.
