Br Peter Paw. May 1. 'Dear “Pasquin,”—Tlie Royal Comics are having a booming season, the big Opera House being packed nightly. “Oh! Oh I Delphino’’ has been the attraction, and the lady merits the double _oh ! oh 1 The comic, opera is light and bright, and quite a striking contrast to “ Mas'time,” a play which will be long remembered in Wellington. The comedy players get a big chance in “ Delphine,” and Phil Smith, Leslie Holland, and .Florence Young have a merry time when before the footlights. To-morrow “Katinka,” and Mr George Highland promises us a production which will shade the first presentation of the opera here last year. The Royal Comics are hard at work rehearsing “The Maid of the Mountains” and other musical plays for presentation on their return to Australia. From here the company goes to Auckland. When last heard from John Hopkins and his “ Dandies” were in the Rotorua district. Mr W. Russell, who was manager of the “ Going Up” Company, has returned to Sydney, where he rejoins the managerial staff of the Theatre Royal. It is expected that Sir Harry Lauder will commence bis New Zealand tour in Christchurch this month. _ _ j “ Goody Two Shoes,” Williamson’s pantomime, is due in New Zealand in July. Arrangements for the tour are now being made.
