HOSPITAL AND CHARITABLE AID BOARD.
The election of stven members of tha Hospital and Charitable Aid Board resulted in a close contest for the final position between Miss Mendelsohn, and Mr Scurr —so close indeed that there is no guarantee tha* on the recount the present positions will be maintained. On the figures as presented Mrs Gordon, Mr dimming, Mr Talboys, and Mrs Ja/jkson have secured re-election to the board. The new members will be Mrt Macfie, Dr Newlands, and Miss Mendelsohn. PALMERSTON NORTH, April 30. ' The following have been elected to tha Hospital Board:—Dr Whitaker, Mrs Gill, and"Mr J. A. Nash. WESTPORT, April 30. For the election of three members of tha Hospital Board the voting was: —Arthur Leaver, 932; J. W. Shanks, 658; A. C, Cottrell, 651; W. Caldwell, 503; F. Beirne, 409; T. Shaw, 352.
