DUNTROON.

April 26.—We have had a long spell of windy weather, but the rain that has fallen during the month has saved the country from being dried up. So far this month we have had 258 points of rain. The land is in good order for ploughing, and the teams are busy. Crops.—There is still a lot of thrashing to be done. The grain crops are turning out very well. The turnip crops are not very good, and owing to fat Stock being held up it is expected that feed will soon bo scarce.

Returned' Soldiers.—We have 16 returned men to Hate, and 18 to return, and a welcome home social, and presentation will be tendered shortly to Trooper J. Haugh and J. Taylor, and Private M. O'Connor. Library.—The library is fairly well patronised, and a subsidy received from the Education Department has been spent in books, which will be on issue at once. • t Church.—Owiing to the snow last winter and the influenza epidemic in the spring the services at the Presbyterian Church could not be held on several Sundays, and now that the yearly balance is approaching it is known there will be a big debit, and a special effort is to be made to recover the position to a sound basis. General.—There is a feeling of disappointment among the farmers who have Dreadnought wheat to sell. Some day they won't grow any more wheat untiil they sell what they hold, so who will be to blame if there is a less acreage next season ? A great number of the wheat-growers require the returns to carry on. ,
