PRESBYTERIAN BIBLE CLASS UNION.

A HIGHLY SUCCESSFUL GATHERING. The camp of the Presbyterian Young Men's Bible Class Union has just concluded at Palmerston North. It was characterised by a determination upon a development of a most progressive policy during the ensuing year. Over 300 representatives, from all parts of the dominion were entertained over Easter by the Palmerston North Centre, and inspirational business, social, and athletic activities were uniformly successful, maintaining the union ideal of developing an all-round man. The formulation of a definite policy in relation to receiving and welcoming returned soldiers, closer relationship with artisans and university students, and the stoppage of the leakage between the Sunday school and Bible classes is expected to result from important discussions on these subjects. On Sunday evening Mr W. J. Main*; of Auckland, made a powerful evangelistic appeal, to which over 80 young men responded. The desirability of the union having a publication of its own was reaffirmed, and instructions were given to the incoming council to pursue a vigorous policy with reference thereto. At an athletic meeting held on Monday the local class won the dominion championship banner. A long jump of 20ft 2in was officially recorded. It was decided that the next camp bo at Auckland. _ A feature of the conference was a meeting addressed by returned soldiers. Lieutenant Burton and Sergeants Mills and Murray spoke, and displayed a splendid optimism. These long-service soldiers, who won distinction, created a lasting impression on a crowded gathering.
