LOAD BINDER
This load binder is a long lever arm with two rotary ratchets at one end and a chain and "hook at the other. The binding chain is passed around the load
in the usual manner and one end is secured to each ratchet, the chain is then tightened by operating the handle. —Karl Nickmann, Choteau, Montana. ("U.S. Patent 1,282,917).
PLOUGH HITCH SHIFTER.
This hitch connects a plough or series of ploughs to a tractor, and the advantage claimed for it is that it enables the plough to keep in the furrow when the tractor
changes direction. It -will be notified that when the steering wheel turns, the pinion attached to it shifts the rack bar in such a manner as to keep the plough in the furrow. —S. W. Woodwar, Roxboro, Wash. (U.S. Patent 1,281,470).
LAND LEVELLING MACHINE
The scraper of this machine is brought into the loading position, when the horses are pulling, by setting the brakes on the wheels by means of the hand lever. It
is held in this position by the foot lever and is dumped by releasing the foot lever. —L. M. Chaffin, Torrey, Utah. (U.S. Patent 1,281,910).
STRAW SPREADER,
The two advantages- claimed for this spreader are : that it will lay an even layer of straw of any desired thickness; and that the teeth of the cylinders clean themselves
automatically. It spreads the straw thin for fertilising and thick for protection.— Mathew Rapp, Morton, HI. (U.S. Patent 1,282,946).

This shoe is secured to the hoof by means of the curved bevelled clamping band shown in the figures. This" is
secured to the shoe by a strong clip in front by means of strong links and cotter pins at the rear.—Alex. Boros, Beaver, Penn. (U.S. Patent 1,282,742).
