The following have been elected to the mayoral chair without opposition:— Green Island. —Mr J. J. Lindsay. West Harbour. —Mr Moller. Waikouaiti. —Mr G. J. L. Kerr. Mosgiel.—Mr Wm. Allan. Milton. —Mr Charles King. Kaitangata.—Mr Thos. Gage. Timaru. —Mr W. C. Raymond. Pahiatua. —Mr Crew. Auckland. —Mr J. H. Gunson. Feilding.—Mr G. I. Harford. Westport.—Mr Arthur Leaver. Grey mouth. —Mr J. D. Lynch. The following have been nominated as candidates for the respective mayoral chairs: Dunedin. —Messrs William Begg, Robert S. Black, Robert Gilkison, and Robert Gordon Macdonald. St. Kilda.—Messrs H. W. Allen, Adam D. Edgar, and Robert Wm. Hall. Alexandra. —Messrs Wm, Black and J. J. O'Kane. Port Chalmers. —Messrs Thomas Soollay and John M'Donald Stevenson. Balclutha. —Messrs Alexander M'Neil and Wm. Bunton. Invercargill.—Messrs John Stead and T. D. Lennie. Christchurch. —Messrs J. J. Dougall, J. M'Combs, M.P., and D. Thacker, M.P. For the 18 vacancies for the Dunedin City Council 23 have been nominated. For St. Kilda only nine nominations were received for the 10 seats.
