MR MASSEY BUSY.

THE SHIPPING DIFFICULTY. (By Cable.) LONDON, April 15. Mr Massey had a conference with the Colonial Office, the Board of Trade, the Food and Shipping Controllers, and the Admiralty regarding New Zealand shipjring. He afterwards said he was convinced that the situation is steadily improving, and that the outlook is very good. New Zealand should get rid of all her produce after the next three months. It was not yet possible to arrange •for shipments of apples and rabbits, as the British Government was unable to spare frozen storage, which was urgently required for meat. The New Zealand soldiers were returning more rapidly than those of any other dominion. Few, if any, would be left by the end of July. Regarding the Peace Conference, he had been so much at the heart of things in Paris that he did not care to discuss the situation, but he felt certain that we were now approaching very good prospects of a satisfactory settlement.
