On a charge of opening two postal packets, a young woman named Mary Josephine Leo, postmistress at Apiti, appeared before Mr E. Page, S.M., at ihe Palmerston NortJi Magistrate's Court last week. She pleaded guilty, and was committed to the Suprem* Court, Wellington, for sentence. Bail, in accused's own bond, was granted in on« surety of £SO.
