FAT STOCK TRADE
DEVELOPMENTS IN TARANAKT. The development of the fat stock trade fa Now Plymouth was referred to at the annual meeting of tho Taranaki Farmers' Meat Company by Mr Quinn, chairman of direotors. Taranaki, he said, was known as a dairy* producing country, but' it was rapidly cm* ing into prominenoe as a stock-producinjf centre. It was noteworthy that the estabv lishment of farmers' freezing works in vari-* ous parts of the dominion during the losl 10 years had had the effect of encouraging the production of fat stock. This was proved by the fact that not only had the more recently-established companies had all the stock they could cope with, but the oldet companies had had to increase theiT oapa> city from time to time to keep pace with this rapidly-growing; industry. An exactly similar condition of affairs wa# being experienced in Taranaki, and the outlet watf distinctly good.
