THE FRENCH MISSION.
ENTERTAINED BY MR MASSEY. WELLINGTON, April 16. The folio-wing official message is dated London, April 14: — General Paii and other members of the French Mission who recently returned frank New Zealand were entertained at dinner bf, Mr Massey and the staff, who in the meantime are "the only members of the New Zealand delegation in Paris.; General Pau referred to the generous reception of the mission in the dominion and the pleasure he derived from the rare natural features of New Zealand and front an instructional study of the notable d» velopment of the country and the happy treatment of the Nativo race. He eulo> fised the courage, fighting capacity, and iscipline of our. soldiers on the battlefields of Prance, where common sacrifice and co-operation had brought the two countries closer together. Mr Massey said that New Zealand had ■watched with keen interest and practical sympathy the terrible ordeal thrust on Prance, which country had emerged with triumph. He hoped that France and Britain would be Allies for all time; that ft worthy peace would bo secured and thai Germany would be compelled to pay; thai the perpetrators of crime would be ade» quately punished, and o stern face ee* against Bolshevism.
