GREY BRANCH DISSATISFIED

GREYMOUTH, April 17. At a largely-attended meeting of the Grey branch of the A.S.R.S., Mr Hampton, the president, addressed the members in regard to the new proposals submitted to the department. At the conclusion of his remarks a number of questions were asked. A vote of no-confidence in the president and council was carried. MEETING AT WESTPORT. WESTPORT, April 19. Mr Hampton, president of the A.S.R.S., addressed a large gathering of railwayman of the local branch in the Friendly Societies' Hall on Thursday evening. He lucidly explained the new classification and the schedule of wages. The meeting gave the president a most cordial hearing and at the conclusion of an address extending over two hours unanimously expressed confidence in Mr Hampton and the present executive.
