INCREASED WAGES FOR CANTERBURY DISTRICT. CHRISTCHURCH, April 8. Increased wages have been granted by the Arbitration Court to metalworkers' as? sistants, rangeworkers, _ engineers, electrical workers, motor mechanics, and cycle workers, in the Canterbury industrial district. Amendments of awards affecting- these workers wer© filed to-day. They were made by the court on the application of the Christchurch Branch of the- Amalgamated Society of Engineers., which includes brassfinishers, rangeworkers, metalworkers' assistants, electrical workers, tinsmiths, sheet metalworkers,- and cycle workers. Tha amendments will come into force on April 21.
