NATURALISTS' FIELD CLUB.

The annual meeting of the Dunedin Naturalists' Field Club . was held at the Y.M.C.A. Rooms on the 9th, Mr H. E. Shacklock presiding. The annual report, which was adopted, stated that the past year had been very successful up till the outbreak of the epidemic, when meetings had to be discontinued. The number of members on the books was 36, and there was a credit balance in hand of £2 14s 4d. During the year several successful meetings had been held, and had been well attended every fortnight up till the end of November. It was hoped that there would be a large membership in the coming year. Dunedin was one of the best districts in the dominion for tho study ,of natural history, and it was surprising that, in a district with such advantages, larger numbers did not avail themselves of the opportunity to make a study of natural science. ■ The election of officers resulted as lollows : _President, the Hon. G. M. Thomson; vice-presidents—Miss M. Finlayson and Mr H. E. Shacklock; se<xeteTies--Miss H K. Dalrymple and Mr W. J. Williams; Outdoor Committee—Misses J B. Reid and A. Finlayson and Mr W. J. Wilbams; Indoor Committee—Misses M. Stevens and A. Greaves and Mr W. A. Scarf. It waa decided that the annual subscription should be 2s 6d. and that meetings should be held fortnightly on the Wednesday evenings following outdoor excursions.
