GOLF.
The first round of the Otago Golf Club's championship was played on Balmacewen Link 3 on Saturday. Results:—C. W. Rattray beat A. Todd, 4 and 3; H. Brasch beat PL de C. M'Arthur, 2 aJid 1; G. P. Barnett beat G. Gallaway, 7 and 6; C. Turnbull beat G. H. Mac Ewan, 4 and 3; F. J. DuCroz beat J. H. C. Bond, 4 and 2; N. Galbraitn beat H. Browning, 4 and 3. The results in the first round! of the Balmacewen Cup were: —P. Y. Wales beat S. Bowman, 5 and 4; D.. Samuel beat D. Ran> sa-y, 3 and 2. In the Active Servioe golf tournament first round, W. G. Williams and Sergeant S. Morpeth ' (New Zealanders) won their heats, but in the second round were defeated.
