The offer made by the management of tha railways to the employees was strongly criticised at a meeting of the : Auckland branch of the A.SR.S. yesterday afternoon. The meeting Was a large one; Mr M. Lee, a member of the Executive Council of the Society,-also of the North Island Railways Appeal Board addressed the men. The meeting passed the following *esolu« tion almost unanirhonsly.:-?-.-This .meeting, ••haying heard Mr Leo and also having heard the general seo- " rotary of '-.■ otir is of opinion that the time "arrived when the president, general secretary, and the exeoutive councillors should tender their 'resignations, thereby giving members an opportunity to elect officers more in touch with the popular feeling of members throughout the dominion. - /Further, this meeting is not in favour of the adoption of the schedules of wagea and conditions as submitted by the Minister and management. A special conference of delegates from all branches of the society is favoured bymany of the men, the suggestion being that every delegate should be furnished with full written instructions as to the attitude of his branch on the question of wages and working conditions and the department a offer. -■ 7\!-f-'." : ,
