An ancient Maori custom is that relatives of- soldiers fallen in battle must perform oertain rites over 'the graves of their loved ones to ensure their happiness in the next World. A deputation of representative Maoris of the Ngapuhi tribe waited. upon the Minister of Native Affairs, the Hon. W. 11.
