.CHRISTCHTJRCTI, April 4. The Canterbury Education Board to-day received a letter from the Education Deparment reporting- that the Minister had under consideration the question of the establishment of a central store for the purchase of school stationery, etc The following resolution was carried:—"That as the board had this matter under' consideration during the period of the war, and has now arrived at the stage of carrying out the proposal to establish its own storo and supply at -wholesale prices to children in the meantime, it cannot, therefore, favour the establishment of a Government central store,"
