MO MO NA.

April s.—While the rainfall has not been great, still there has been a good deal of cold, stormy weather during the past fortnight, and at the present moment a spell of settled weather would be eagerly wek corned by the farming community. The- Farm.—Harvesting has not progressed so rapidly as we could have desired durin°the past fortnight. Cutting and leading in have been frequently interrupted by unfavourable weather, and progress has necessarily been slow. There is still an occasional field of gram standing, and a large quantity is in the stook. A fortnight's dry weather would see most of this in the stack, but the season is getting late and the days are shortening. Under these circumstances harvesting i 3 a matter of difficulty, but farmers are not easily dismayed, and we will win through in the end. A small amount of stook-thrashing has been done in this locality, but the bulk of. the crop will go into the stack. r . Winter Feed.—Turnips are not bulbing so well as in previous seasons, and occasional severe frosts experienced during the past week have caused the grass to disappear rapidly, so it cannot be said that the outlook for winter feed has in any way improved. For many farmers the problem of providing winter feed for stock will be a difficult one. ■

Motor Service.—A tri-weekly motor service between Momona and Allanton has been inaugurated by Mr Dan Snell, and will doubtless prove a convenience to Momona people travelling to and from the trains at Allanton.

Forthcoming Social.—Klext Friday evening, April 11, a welcome homo social will be tendered,to Gunner George Bruce, who returned home recently after a long period of active service.
