COURT-MARTIAL.

WANGANUI, January 21. The- court-martial to try Lieutenant Crampton in connection with matters pertaining to the Wanganui detention barracks will sit at Wanganui on the 29th inst. It is understood that Lieutenantcolonel Colquhoun will preside, and associated with him will be Majors Hume, Mackeiy, Henty, Asswith, Talbot, and Captain Smith. "Captain P. E. Baldwin will be judgo advocate. Eleven charges have been preferred against Lieutenant Crampton, alleging illtreatment and permitting unnecessary force to bo used on soldiers. Charges have been laid alleging that Lieutenant Crampton ill-treated the following prisoners a.t the barracks: —Private Harry Wilson, W. B. Donovan, Joseph M'Oonvillo, Thomas Moynihan ; AUster Beaton, Wilfred Badger, Frederick Pallesen, and George Corian.
