The annual subscription as fixed by thtf constitution was raised, so that the execu* tive will have at its disposal the funds; necessary to oarry on an active and vigor* ous policy. The policy of the Government; in making the profession so unattractive that one oufl of every three teachers is uncertificated wajj unanimouslv condemned, and the opinioflj was strongly expressed that until the edu* cational service of the dominion offered con* ditions of pay and promotion comparably with the economio value and social standing the profession demands, the present de< plorable state oi inefficiency will continue, Members expressed a generous apprecia> tion of the work done by the executive during the year, -and the three chief officers were re-elected.
