WAR REGULATIONS.

LYTTELIW, January 14. W. Magnusson, a Danish seaman, was fined £5 to-day for a breach of the War Regulations in that he, being an alien, landed at Lyttelton without a passport. The accused _ admitted the offence, but urged extenuation, stating that he_ was a loyal subject, having aerved with thd Canadian Forces.

Evidence was given by the police, which showed that the accused had heen warned Ik>&' to land without a passport, and that 1&3 had evaded the police for four days.
