SALVATION ARMY.

YOUNG PEOPLE'S ANNUAL. DEMONSTRATIONS. On the occasion of the visit of Brigadier Hoare, National Secretary of the Young People's Work of the Salvation Army, ad vantage was taken on the part of the local corps to hold the annual series of meetings and Sunday school prize-giving. The brigadier conducted the services in the Citadel on Sunday. In the afternoon prizes were distributed among the children whose names were on the oradle roll. Additional interest was given by Brigadier Hoare calling upon the fathers to carry the infants to tho front to receive their prizes. In the evening a large congregation assembled when the Brigadier spoke upon the words. "It is time to serve the Lord," his lesson being aptly illustrated on a blackboard by Sergeant-major R, Hughson. A pleasing feature of the afternoon's service was the enrolment of Misses Simpson and Pellowe beneath the Army's tricolour flag as senior soldiers. Adjutant Copp, .who was recently appointed by Commissioner Hodder to the oversight of the young people's work in the Dunedin division, was introduced to the congregations by Brigadier Hoare. On.
